Basketball
Platteville Recreation offers basketball for kids Pre-k - through 6th grade, K-2 Basketball League and NVAA Basketball for 3rd-6th grade participants.  These programs are designed to promote good sportsmanship, teamwork while teaching the rules and fundamentals of the game of basketball.  Through this program your child should be: developing the skills needed to play, learning the basic rules of the game, creating friendships, and most importantly having fun!  Scholarships are available to help those in need of assistance.  Click here for a scholarship form.  Player/coach requests are welcome but cannot be guaranteed.

Registration is now open for the Tri Valley Little Ballers Basketball League, a fun and engaging program designed for PreK–2nd graders. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to learn the fundamentals of basketball, build confidence, and make new friends in a supportive and energetic environment.

League Details:

• Open to participants from Platteville, Gilcrest and the surrounding area!
• Practices begin the week of October 12 at Platteville Elementary School
• Games start October 31
• Cost:
  • $65 with a 2026 Platteville Rec-issued jersey
  • $75 includes purchase of a black 2026 jersey
• Early Bird Discount: Save $10 when you register between August 20 – September 11
• Registration closes on Monday October 4!
• Scholarships available for families in need

NVAA Basketball

Join us this winter for boys and girls NVAA Basketball. We will be offering basketball for grades 3-6 starting in January 2027. 

Early Bird Registration-  $65     10/7-10/21

Regular Registration - $75          10/21-12/5    

Late Registration - $85                12/5 - 12/9 IF POSITIONS AVAILABLE

First game - 1/16/2027

COACHING OPPORTUNITIES
As with all youth sports, we are dependent on volunteers for coaches.  If you are interested in coaching be sure to fill out the coaches application on your account.  Please contact the recreation staff to put in your practice day/time requests.
